7/2/2003 9:07:20 PM Photo Gallery has been changed. I have changed the photo gallery a bit. I am sure none of the people reading will be interested but i will give a brief description of the changes. When a picture is uploaded from a digital camera often it's much larger than screen resolution and not meant to be on the web before reducing the image size. WIth the new changes to my gallery you need not worry, in fact it is incouraged that you upload high resolution pictures for printing purposes. When you view the picture the gallery will automatically create a smaller version of the picture under 800x600 resolution, acceptable for web viewing. Under that picture there will be a link to view the larger image for saving/printing pictures. Hope this helps. Grant
6/30/2003 2:48:16 PM Jewel's new CD is out and i have to say that though i dreaded hearing it, it's not that bad, it's actually good and what i would expect to hear from her.
Some people will call it a sell out album because she has gone where the popularity lies, pop go figure, but I think the album takes pop into a more healthy state including something called creativity. While some songs are pure pop others stray away from bubblegum and have an almost Radiohead sound. If you liked Jewel's last CD then i think after listening to this one a couple times you will really like it. Grant Marblestone

4/28/2003 4:17:54 PM Gave up on trying to paint my large living area.

My parents were nice enough to help me out this weekend, however about 4 hours into it i decided enough was enough. I mean why do i work all week if i can't afford to get someone else to paint in here?
Therefore they guy who did my tile, Roger Reyes [website], has offered to do it for a fair price.
Hopefully the money pit is done sucking away my money for a while Grant

3/12/2003 10:33:57 PM Back From our trip to New York. Lets see: we were first in line not to see David Letterman. We also had great seats to Hairspray during the first strike in 30 years. Great luck ey? Grant
3/3/2003 12:23:18 PM Monday, today, guys came over to take out the final wall (for now). The fireplace was in that wall so it had to go as well. I think it really opens up the entire place now. As you can see in the pictures you can now view the breakfast room from the living room. Grant

3/1/2003 11:24:40 PM I took out the base of the fireplace with the jackhammer on monday and it went pretty smoothly. It took about 1 hour to destroy the entire base. We tried earlier with the sledge hammer to take out a section, and there is really no comparison. Last night JC, Amy, Ginger and I took loaded the destroyed brick into the back of ginger's truck. Ginger and I were sure that it was the heaviest load, but it turned out that it was less than a ton. We unloaded it that night at our friendly dump and were done around 12:30am; its easier at night. Today Sam brought a guy over to quote capping the fireplace chase and destroying the wall, opening the place up even more; they are gonna do it monday. Ginger and I went to home depot and blew a wad of cash on can lights for the new side of the living room. We came home and tried to lay out the couches the way we thought they might go. I think we will have to wait and see. Finally ginger and i lifted the carpet in the orange side of the living room and decided to remove all the square tiles they left. Ginger did all the work, but matzah and i watched; which was really tough. Hopefully we will put in the cans tommorow and rig them with electricity. NIGHT Grant
2/26/2003 8:48:52 PM Oma had a good weekend and a good beginning of the week. Her bladder infection is improving and she is getting out of her bed/chair on a regular basis to visit her friend John. She spends much of the day sitting in a chair and is beginning to eat more substantial foods. She has been going for short and medium walks. We are working on nausea that seems to occurs from general pain (some times) and also following exercising. Her granddaughter, Elysa has been here since Saturday and has made a big difference. She has had many calls and cards - please keep them coming!!! Steve, Charles, and Susan
2/18/2003 3:54:45 PM Oma had a fairly good weekend. She is still on pain medication which make her want to sleep a lot. We have to keep reminding ourselves that this is only Day 4 after the surgery. Susan and Charles have been in town and have spent a lot of time with her. Susan was with her all weekend, from morning to night. That help her sooooo much. Her grand children are calling and visiting. Her face lights up when she is talking with one of them. Charles, Susan and I are important until one of them calls. Then her entire attention is to them. It is such a pleasure to see. Will keep you informed. Thanks for your interest! Charles, Susan and Steve
2/17/2003 2:48:34 PM Oma took a little trip, and broke her right upper leg (femur) on Wednesday around noon. They operated and reset the leg with a metal rod in such a way that she will be able to walk on the leg as soon as she is strong enough - most likely today - no cast. She did very well but will need some recovery time. Please mail any cards to our house and we will be sure that she receives them. I will give or read her copies of any email that I receive. We are still hopeful that she will be able to make the trip (oops) .... be able to travel to NY for Greg's Bar Mitzvah in a few week. We will bring along he private, favorite Dr. (Charles) with her. Steven Stein
